Oprava mrtveho HDD WD2500AAJS

U me neprekvapive prohozeni tech 2 desek na 2TB discich vedlo k tomu, ze nefunguje ani jeden, normalne se roztoci a identifikujou, nijak necvakaj, ale linux hlasi nake serious erory, ze jako z nej nejde cist. Tu flashku sem zkusil pridat do sveho SPIPGM, tak to du zkusit sfouknout a precist. BTW ta moje je na 1.8V, level konverter uz sem si delal driv.

If Selective self-test is pending on power-up, resume after 0 minute delay.Nechapem, co mu vlastne stalo. Moduly v ROM aj v servisnej oblasti mali spravny checksum (aj ked obsah dvoch spominanych bol rozdielny) - takze nemohlo ist o nahodne poskodenie.
Podozrive je, ze povodny ROM modul 0D obsahoval nazov disku a verziu firmware 02.03E02. V cinskej ROM ani v module zo servisnej oblasti nazov ani verzia FW nie je. Teraz to ukazuje FW 05.04E05.
Po naflashovani spravnej ROM s nimi disk funguje, takze sa daju pouzit ako nahrada dosky 2060-771590-001 REV A s 88i8846E a externou flash.
Postup: samotnu dosku zapojit na SATA a napajanie, pockat niekolko minut, kym vzda pokusy o inicializaciu (zmizne BSY flag) a nasledne zapisat programom WD Marvel.
A na Seagate disky by naky tooly nebyly?
Z tech 2TB disku sem vydumpoval flashe (1MB) a porovnal, je tam celkem 54525 diferenci ruzne rozesetych v oblastech 30008-3FFFF, 7002E-7F209, ACE02-FFFC0, na konci ma jedna pamet blok FF zatim co druha tam ma naka data, takze to nevypada na par kalibracnich dat, mozna se tam ukladaji cele SMART logy...?

Ale mam tu jiny problem, nenadale mi prestal fungovat jiny disk Seagate 200GB SATA ST3200826AS, ktery se uplne prestal detekovat. Jeste pred tydnem sem na nej instaloval Win na naky SW, dival sem se na SMART a zadne relocated ani pending sektory nemel. Ted sem ho znovu vytah, pripojil, primo SATA kabelem k desce a nic, zadna detekce. Disk se roztoci a je slyset, ze kazdych cca 8s kratce tukne hlavou. Zkousel sem ho dat do mrazaku, ale nepomohlo. Na te elektronice je taky naka fleska SST25VF. Si rikam, ze kdyz je typ disku, ktery se vypisuje pri detekci, ulozeny v ni, tak by to mohl bejt taky nakej problem s fleskou, ze se jebl naky bit a vubec nenastartuje FW. Zkusim ji vycitat pri ruznych napetich, jesi teda se neceho doberu...

Pomocou self-scanu v STComTools som rozchodil par diskov vhodnych predtym akurat na vyhodenie. Na niektorych to skoncilo s chybou - tie som rozobral a vyhodil. Myslim, ze podobny postup pouziva Seagate aj pri reklamaciach...co prejde, oznacia ako "Certified Refurbished".

Zkusil sem precist tu SPI flash SST25VF512 (64kB) a az do 1.7V davala konzistentni obsah, pro jistotu sem ji este smazal a znova zapsal, ale zadna zmena.
Ted sem se pripojil seriovym kabelem, chytlo se to na 9600bd, 3,3V.

Zkoustim ST Repair Tool 2013-5-10 ktery ma nejmin cinskych tlacitek, tuknul sem na "Start SF", ted to ruzne hrabe a toci motorem, nemam to zrovna pripojene SATA kabelem, tak mi to zaclo hazet "SATA interrupt nor processed!"

INVALID Cert Disk Code - ROM Resident Revision Required: 3.03Jinak v tom STComToolu nejak nefungovalo zadny ukladani ani nahravani pameti ci stop, nejak to rozjebalo UART, vypsalo naky rozsypany caje a zanechalo terminal ve stavu ze neprijimal/nevysilal zadne znaky, bylo treba to pozavirat (nekdy natvrdo sestrelit proces) a odevrit znova. zrejme se to nak snazilo prepnout na vyssi baudy ale nepovedlo se.
Jenze pozdeji jsem zistil, ze jsou s nim problemy i pri pripojeni na onboard SATA radic. SSD sem kompletne vymazal pres ATA Secure Erase (utilitou vyrobce ADATA SSD Toolbox), cimz se behem par s vsechny sektory vynulovaly. V tomto stavu se SSD chovalo OK, pri cteni dosahoval vysoke rychlosti a pri cteni vsech sektoru nebyla zadna chyba. Jenze jakmile sem SSD rozdelil a nahral na nej OS a dalsi programy, tak nastaly problemy. Kdykoliv jsem zacal vice cist nez jen sem tam jednotlivy soubor, tak se SSD zaseknul, HDD LED zustala trvale svitit a uz jsem z nej nic neprecet. Az po tvrdem resetu zas nabehl a mohl sem neco malo precist. SSD obsahuje legendarni srackoradic SandForce 2281 (ktery provadi runtime kompresi dat), tak jsem zkusil aktualizovat FW z 5.0.2 na posledni 5.8.2, vymazal ho a znovu nahral data - zapis byl bez problemu, ale nasledne cteni opet s dlouhatanskymi timeouty, takze novy FW ani full erase to neresi. SSD proste postupne presel do faze WOM (write-only memory
Jako posledni moznost by se dala vyzkouset tovarni reinicializace leaknutym softwarem Genesis primo od vyrobce prepnutim do recovery rezimu pomoci jumperu, ale ten postup je docela komplikovany, vyzaduje instalaci urcite verzi Fedory v kere ten SW bezi... ale spis myslim, ze to uz bude proste naka degradace tech flash cipu, ze by to stejne nikam nevedlo....
